This car is a last year of production Porsche 993 Turbo, built with an extensive list of options using Porsche’s Exclusiv programme.
The most important of these is the engine. Throughout the production run of 993 Turbos the Exclusiv department gave customers the option to specify upgraded engine performance. Originally this amounted to little more than increased turbo boost pressure and a modified ECU. However, this evolved into a package called “WLS II” (German acronym for “Works Performance Increase 2”) which included larger K24 turbos, twin plug ignition and additional oil cooling. The effect was to increase engine output from 408 to 450hp – the same as the most powerful versions of the 993 (the Turbo S and infamous GT2 Evo).
The original owner of this car did not stop at the engine and they chose to specify all of the Turbo S cosmetic enhancements, including expensive items like the vented rear wings, full Aerokit and special carbon and leather interior.
The car was made for the German market and first delivered on 11 March 1998. It was exported early in its life to Japan before returning to Germany in 2008. It was purchased by Bernd Weise of Quickborn near Hamburg, who would keep the car for the next 11 years.
Weise maintained the car regularly with the Porsche Classic accredited Official Porsche Centre in Hamburg. There are receipts on file for the work done by OPC Hamburg including regular inspection reports.
A full 48k service including engine and gearbox oil, brake fluid and spark plugs has been completed by well-regarded specialists BS Motorsport in October 2020. The majority of the car’s paintwork appears to be original with only the bonnet, right front wing and right door having seen any paint.
