details

Manufactured in Stuttgart, this 930 was first registered on 31 March 1989, one of only 86 UK-delivered RHD Turbo coupes of just 112 in total worldwide that year.

The original driver’s manual lists factory-fitted options, including heated, adjustable sports seats, 40% LSD, top-tinted windscreen, sunroof, rear-belts and velour carpets in the trunk.
It has seven owners recorded, with the most recent acquiring the car on 20 August 2002 when it showed a verifiable mileage of just 62,000 miles.  Since then, the car has been used sparingly over the past 16 years, with little more than 4,000 miles added since.

Notable maintenance includes the addition of 1-bar boost springs by Porsche specialists Autofarm while the car underwent an engine rebuild, as well as having a performance exhaust and new brake discs added, at Addspeed in 2002.  Original books, including all service stamps from new and MOT’s from the late 1990s, are retained, as well as original toolkit.

Sports Purpose project managed a complete bare-metal overhaul and refresh by Heritage AutoWerks at a cost of almost £30,000 and the car presents strongly.

Synonymous with the Porsche racing programme, the 911 Turbo has rightly been considered amongst the very best of the company’s road car range since its launch in 1975.
Our thoughts

This 930 from 1989 marks the culmination in development of these cars.

Although only produced across one model year, the introduction of the 5-speed G50 transmission made the Turbo even more usable and is understandably an in-demand model.

With little use over the last 16 years and no evidence of damage or repairs, it represents an original, unmolested car from the end of Porsche’s first Turbo era.  The car presents superbly, an exercise in discreet high performance.

We are often asked what Porsche to use every day;  this charismatic 80s supercar would be very near to the top of that list.
