history

This 964 Carrera RS was built as a Hong Kong market (C15) right-hand drive car in November 1991, but was first delivered in the UK on 19th March 1994. While the 964 RS is now revered amongst enthusiasts, it was difficult to sell when new and a number of factory orders were re-allocated between markets.

With only 19,300 miles completed, this car must be one of the lowest mileage right hand drive examples existing.  Only 52 right hand drive cars were imported to the UK and many of these have subsequently found new homes overseas.

After changing hands several times in the first couple of years of its life, the car settled into a succession of long-term ownerships.  It has remained in the UK since new and has extensive MOT and service records that substantiate its mileage.  It has been regularly serviced, initially by the Porsche main dealer network and more latterly by respected specialists Maxted-Page and Prill Porsche Classics.

With less than 5% of the 964 RS production run made in right-hand drive form, finding a good, low mileage example such as this is not an easy task.
Our thoughts

Having sold several 964 RS in the last year, our enthusiasm for the model is well-known.  While benefitting from modern electronics and safety features such as ABS, they still embody the purity and spirit of the early Sports Purpose cars.

Criticised when new for their uncompromising set up, these cars now feel vibrant and alive, giving the driver a level of feedback and direct involvement that is perhaps missing from more recent iterations of the RS catalogue.

For some accessing the full capabilities of a 964 RS on UK roads will always seem easier when sitting on the right-hand side of the car.  With less than 5% of the 964 RS production run made in right-hand drive form, finding a good, low mileage example such as this is not an easy task.

Furthermore, the aesthetics of these cars are as big a part of their allure as their dynamics.  They can be quite sensitive to colour choice and in this case the subtle Polar Silver exterior contrasted with the vibrant Rubystone themed panels of the leather seats works extremely well.

As with all our cars, we have put over 100 carefully enthusiastic miles on this car and it is running beautifully.  She pulls hard and feels extremely tight.  This is a rare opportunity to acquire a special car.
